Head of Research

Capital A Investment Bank is seeking a Head of Research to build and lead its research function, supporting the firm’s brokerage trading, private wealth advisory, and capital markets activities. This role combines thought leadership, analytical rigor, and market insight and will shape Capital A’s investment views, client positioning, and product development.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and lead Capital A’s equity, fixed income, and macroeconomic research agenda
• Develop investment theses, sector reports, and market outlooks
• Support capital markets transactions with issuer and investor research
• Engage with institutional clients, fund managers, and regulators as a thought leader
• Ensure research outputs meet CMA, compliance, and ethical standards
• Build and manage a high-quality research team.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related discipline
• Master’s degree or CFA designation strongly preferred
• 4+ years’ experience in sell-side or buy-side research, strategy, or asset management
• Demonstrated expertise in Kenyan and regional capital markets
• Strong publication record (research notes, reports, market commentary)
• Experience engaging institutional investors and senior executives
