Fund Administrator

Role Purpose
The Fund Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operational administration of investment funds. This includes ensuring accurate Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations, maintaining investor records, managing reporting, and ensuring compliance with Capital Markets Authority (CMA) regulations. This role is central to Capital A and involves close collaboration with Investment, Operations, Finance, Custodians, Trustees, and external service providers.
Key Responsibilities
Fund Operations & Administration
- Maintain accurate investor registers, including subscriptions, redemptions, transfers, switches, and unit pricing.
- Monitor fund performance, track and review NAVs, and manage fund reconciliations and valuation support schedules.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of fund transactions.
- Coordinate trade settlements, corporate actions, and cash movements with custodians and brokers.
- Support the onboarding of new funds, share classes, and investor tranches (KES, USD, and Special Funds).
- Work with IT teams to implement system enhancements and resolve technical issues related to the fund management system.
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare periodic investor statements and fund reports.
- Generate regular financial reports, including fund performance summaries, unit pricing reports, and valuation statements.
- Support regulatory reporting requirements for the CMA and Trustees.
- Assist with audit processes, including liaison with external auditors and valuers.
- Ensure strict adherence to Collective Investment Scheme (CIS) Trust Deeds, Information Memoranda, and internal policies.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as a key liaison between Capital A, Trustees, Custodians, Fund Managers, and Administrators.
- Collaborate with customer service and marketing teams to enhance client communications and fund-related content.
- Support client service teams regarding investor queries and operational matters.
- Implement and uphold robust data protection and privacy practices to safeguard customer information and ensure confidentiality.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- A professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, or CFA Level I or above) is considered an advantage.
- 3–6 years of experience in fund administration, asset management operations, custody, or investment banking operations.
- Strong understanding of CMA CIS regulations and fund structures.
- Experience with multi-asset or alternative funds is a plus.
